Well, you can’t let a title like Rocko’s Modern Life feel outdated. The fan-favorite Nickelodeon wallaby and all his friends are coming back for a new one-hour special, as Static Cling reunites the classic cast and crew.

Nickelodeon confirmed plans for 2018 one-hour special Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, as written and executive produced by original series creator Joe Murray. Near of the entire original voice cast will return, including Carlos Alazraqui as Rocko, Spunky, and Leon; Tom Kenny as Heffer Wolfe, Chuck, and Really Really Big Man; Mr. Lawrence as Filburt Turtle and Maitre D’; Charlie Adler as Ed Bighead, Bev Bighead, Mr. Dupette, Grandpa Wolfe, and Mrs. Fathead; Linda Wallem as Aunt Gretchen and Dr. Hutchinson; Jill Talley as Nosey and Joe Murray as Ralph.

So reads the synopsis for the new special, which follows the series’ original run from 1993-1996:

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling brings the characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko whole-heartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.

New cast includes Adventure Time star Steve Little as Cowboy, and Static Cling director Cosmo Segurson as Pillow Salesman. Were the Rocko nostalgia not enough, Nickelodeon also has Hey Arnold!:The Jungle Movie set for the fall, and a new Invader Zim in development.

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling will debut in 2018, so stay tuned.
