Burkburnett Murder Victim ID, Suspect Held in Wichita County Jail
Burkburnett Police have released the identity of a man found dead in a home there on Saturday. 22 year-old Cameron Scott McCarthy was discovered inside a home in the 700 block of East First Street on Saturday morning. Burk PD was alerted by Texas Rangers of a possible homicide at around 9 am. The Rangers reportedly had the home and an occupant or occupants under surveillance.
When police arrived they found McCarthy’s body inside the home. 35 year-old Charles Frederick Cornman III was arrested at another location. Cornman is charged with murder, assault and bond revocation for possession of a controlled substance. His bonds total more than $1 million.
Along with Cornman, Burk PD arrested 31 year-old Thomas Kyle Selman and 46 year-old William Carter Richardson IV. Selman was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. Cornman’s bond was set at $25,000. Richardson was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. His bonds totaled $35,000.
All suspects remain in the Wichita County Jail. A federal hold from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms was placed on Cornman as well. The exact motive for the murder and manner of death has not been revealed.
