We all know that Lil Wayne is a basketball fan, but apparently the Oklahoma City Thunder wasn’t feeling his steez. On Thursday night, Weezy wanted to attend Game 3 of the Western Conference finals between the OKC Thunder and San Antonio Spurs but was blocked by Thunder officials.

The rapper posted on his Twitter, “Was going to go to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs!”

A spokesperson for the Thunder spokesman told TMZ that Weezy’s peeps did contact the team requesting front-row tickets but were sold out. “We did not deny him,” said the rep.

However, Young Money President Mack Maine has a different take of how it went down. He told MTV that he couldn’t get premium tickets but OKC officials were offering seats behind the front row. “They said they’ll give him some tickets on the front row behind, but they’re not really tryin’ to have him sittin’ courtside,” he said.

What’s even more strange, Maine said officials wanted Wayne to attend the game through the front entrance without security. “Then they also sent a message back sayin’ the OKC policy was no special parking and no escort, so he gotta walk in like everybody else,” he explained. “Why would you actually want to cause pandemonium? That’s gonna make it harder for your security.”

We have to agree. There was no way Wayne could have entered that building safely without being detected.

So rather than cause a disruption and put Wayne’s safety at risk, they decided to watch the game elsewhere. “We’re not no prima donnas, but that’s just common sense, for our safety and the safety of your building,” Maine said.

If it’s any consolation, the OKC Thunder beat the Spurs 102-82 and snapped San Antonio’s 20-game winning streak in the postseason. Hopefully, Wayne will be able to attend one of these games in the Western Conference finals.
