Ever since the release of the 1989 movie 'Back To The Future II' the world has been waiting to finally have self-lacing shoes. Nike had released shoes like Marty's in 2015 for the movie's anniversary, but they were more of a collectors item than a fully functional athletic shoe. It may be a year later than when Marty and Doc visited in the future, but the dream is about to really come true in 2016. The new, self-lacing, Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 finally have an official release date.

Back in March, Nike announced that they would have the futuristic shoes available before the holidays. Yesterday we finally got an exact release date for a shoe that was truly worthy of the nearly 30 year wait. On November 28th, you'll actually be able to pull a full Marty McFly! 'Power laces! Alright!'

While the shoes don't look exactly like the Air Mags from the movie, these are designed to be way more functional. Wired sat down with Nike's Tinker Hatfield and Tiffany Beers to find out about the shoes that took nearly 30 years to fully design. In the video above they demonstrate how to charge the sneakers, and tighten and loosen the laces with the touch of a button. You can get an even more in depth look at what technology and planning went into them in their full story at Wired.com.

More details are still coming about the HyperAdapt 1.0. We still don't know the price or how limited the supply will be. What we do know is that not only will they be a must own for BTTF fans, but they are also designed to be the best athletic shoes they could be. CNBC reports that they will be available exclusively for members of its Nike+ loyalty program.
