It's time to salute 21-year-old Justin Werner of Topeka, Kansas.  Earlier this year he underwent a tonsillectomy to fix his throat problems, and in the process he broke the Guinness World Record for 'Largest Tonsils.'

Justin's had chronic sore throats and snoring problems for the past ten years.

His tonsils partially blocked his windpipe, and even affected his social life and made him quiet:  If he talked too much one day, he'd have a sore throat the next.

But supposedly he had no idea how ENORMOUS his tonsils were until AFTER the operation.  Which seems kinda hard to believe when you see a photo of them.

One of the tonsils was 1.9 inches long, 1 inch wide, and .7 inches thick.  The other one was even BIGGER:   2.1 inches long, 1.1 inches wide, and .7 inches thick.

After the doctors noticed how giant Justin's tonsils were, Justin got the Guinness people involved, and they officially verified it.

The previous record was . . . actually we don't know exactly what the previous record was.  Do you really care?  It was held by a dude in Milwaukee named Justin Dodge, and the new Justin had tonsils that were roughly .7 inches longer.

He says it's easier to talk, breathe, and sleep now . . . he doesn't snore . . . he hasn't had a sore throat since the operation . . . and he recently ran his first half-marathon.

Doctors don't know why or how Justin's tonsils got so big.
