Relay for Life is coming back to Wichita Falls on October 12th, 2024. The event has taken a pause in recent years, but they have the same goal as always. To raise money for cancer research and the goal this year is $50,000. As of this post right now, they have raised over $32,500. They're getting close to finish line, but as always they need your help with the big event.

This year the theme is wrangle up a cure because the Texoma Cowboy Church was gracious enough to donate their space for Relay for Life to use. The good news is that the area is covered, so if that unpredictable Wichita Falls weather hits on October 12th, a roof will keep us protected.

What is Relay for Life?

This has been going on for decades and it all started with a guy named Dr. Gordon Klatt, who walked on a track for 24 hours raising money for cancer research. The more laps he did, the more money he raised. Here in Wichita Falls, it will be six hours. Don't worry if you don't want to walk, come on out to the event they will have a lot going on. Like carnival games, food, and even longhorn rides. Not a mechanical longhorn, a real longhorn.

If you play some games, buy some food, or pay for a longhorn ride. That money is going towards that $50,000 goal. Keep up with Relay for Life of Greater Texoma on their website and be sure you check it out to find out how you can help them reach their goal today.
