UPDATE: Just a day after issuing an apology for the offensive 'Twin Towers Sale' commercial, Miracle Mattress owner Mike Bonanno announced that the store would be closing indefinitely.

In Bonanno's letter, he announced that the location would be closing immediately and remain silent during the 9/11 anniversary weekend to "avoid any further distractions." Bonanno also announced that they will be issuing another statement next week to announce accountability actions the company will be taking in response to the offensive ad and plans to support the 9/11 victims' fund.

ORIGINAL POST

Miracle Mattress in San Antonio definitely crossed a line when they produced a commercial making fun of the terror attacks of 9/11 for their "Twin Tower Sale".

The short ad features a woman and two men standing in front to two tall stacks of mattresses. The woman, who has been identified on Facebook as the daughter of the store's owner, says "What better way to remember 9/11 than with a Twin Towers sale?", advertising all mattresses at twin mattress pricing. The commercial ends with the two men being knocked back into the mattress towers, knocking them over, and the woman screaming and saying, "We will never forget." The video was captured by Jenee Lewis and shared to the KSAT 12 Facebook page,

KSAT initially tried to contact Miracle Mattress, but got no response. A reporter even went to the location, but the doors were locked and no one appeared to be inside. After the store issued an apology for offending people, the owner of the store posted a letter of apology on the store's Facebook page.

The apology seems to be too little too late, with the store's Facebook page being flooded with suggestions that they close up shop now. Miracle Mattress posted that they will leave up all comments about the situation in order to have a transparent and fair discussion.
