This past Saturday, Matt Bomer from USA's hit series "White Collar" laid the rumors to rest and officially announced that he is gay.  The announcement came with his New Generation Arts and Activism Award for his work in the fight against HIV/AIDS.  During the ceremony, Bomer told the crowd,

"I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family, Simon (Matt's partner, Slate PR publicist Simon Halls), Kit, Walker, Henry.  Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."

Rumors about Bomer's sexual orientation have been going around for a while now.  In a 2010 interview with Details magazine, Bomer was asked if pays attention to the rumors,

"I don't care about that at all.  I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life.  I have a network and a show riding on my shoulders. I would say a big difference between my character and me is that I can be too trusting.  And I've realized in this business, that's not necessarily the smartest thing to be.  I definitely have a thing or two to learn from the con artists."

I know several women who are going to be bummed out with this news, but it doesn't mean Bomer is done being eye candy for the ladies.  Bomer is set to appear in "Magic Mike", playing a male stripper along side Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughhey, and Alex Pettyfer.
