Big 5 Sporting Goods has announced it will shut it's doors in Wichita Falls as of the 28th of this month. The store opened in Wichita Falls about thirteen years ago in March of 1999.

We're always sad to see businesses leave Wichita Falls, but bargain hunters know that the store is currently trying to clearance out their inventory with huge discounts. The savings we already pretty good when I stopped by a few weeks ago. During that trip I picked up some camping and hiking accessories at about 30% off. I'm hoping to find the price tags even lower when I return this weekend.

This could also be good news for folks in Duncan, Oklahoma. Big 5 corporate has mentioned plans of opening a new location in Duncan and giving full time employees of the Kemp Blvd. storefront the option of transferring to the new Oklahoma location.

Leave us your opinion. Are you sad to see it go; or would you just as well shop at Academy, Jerry's, or another local sporting goods supplier?
