The fowl flinging puzzle game Angry Birds was released for the iPhone in December of 2009, and since then over 12 million copies have been purchased in Apple's App Store. The makers of Angry Birds, Rovio Mobile, have since designed the game for other smartphones such as those using the Android OS.
Well if you have not bought into the iPhone or Android hype yet - never fear - the makers of Angry Birds have made it possible for you to decrease your daily productivity level right from your computer with the recent release of the web based version of Angry Birds in the Google Chrome Web Store.
OK, I admit that I have wasted more time playing Angry Birds than I care to admit. There's something just addictive about flinging avian weapons and popping green pigs wearing funny hats. However, I don't seem to have the amount of free time that the people at Rooster Teeth Productions do, since they have produced a trailer for "Angry Birds: The Movie".
Get happy, Angry Birds fans: Rovio on Tuesday released the latest edition of the wildly addictive game, titled Angry Birds Rio. The new version is in connection with the upcoming animated movie 'Rio,' which hits theaters on April 15.
In this installment, the Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to Rio de Janeiro (duh), where they escape and attempt to save the two stars of 'Rio,' macaws Blu and Jewel.
According to the Rovio press release, the app "can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, from the Mac App Store for Mac computers, and for Android devices in the Amazon Appstore."
