Grinch Hacks Ring Camera and Poses as Santa to Harass 8-year-old Girl

This guy deserves coal for Christmas... delivered from a cannon... aimed at his head.

An idiot with too much time of his hands decided to hack into a Ring camera positioned in an 8-year-old girl's room. The parents installed the camera so the mother could keep an eye on her while she worked night shifts as a nurse.

In the video, the hacker identifies himself as Santa and encourages the girl to destroy her room:

According to CNN, Ring investigated the situation and believes that the hacker gained access through a lapse in the account security on the family's end, possibly through the use of the same login for various other accounts,

As a precaution, we highly and openly encourage all Ring users to enable two-factor authentication on their Ring account, add Shared Users (instead of sharing login credentials), use strong passwords, and regularly change their passwords.

At this time, the hacker's identity has not be discovered.
