We all know cycling is a big part of the Wichita Falls community, but now we're getting national recognition.

Hotter'N Hell Weekend is Back in 2024 August 22nd-25th

For several decades tens of thousands of bike riders have descended upon Wichita Falls for the annual Hotter'N Hell 100. Obviously the big event is the ride on Saturday every year. Friendly reminder, if you don't think you can do 100 miles on a bike. They have other increments you can do. Beginners can start out at a 10K and work their way up to that 100 miles over the years if they would like.

USA Today recently did a poll of the best road cycling events in the country. I imagine the average reader in USA Today is like, how the hell did Wichita Falls win this. Seriously, we beat out some pretty major cities on the list.

Called "a Texas 'ride' of passage," Hotter'N Hell Hundred is one of the oldest and largest bicycling events in the country. You might need to be a bit mad to take on the Endurance Ride, which lives up to its billing of "hell on wheels" by doing 100 miles in the often 100-degree August heat. However, there are plenty of other perks to keep you sane, from a spaghetti dinner and breakfast buffet to a welcoming Finish Line Village where you can cool off.
