Just a few weeks away from one of the biggest events in Wichita Falls and here is what you need to know.

August 22nd-25th is the Hotter'N Hell Hundred for 2024

Thanks to our friends at Bicycle ER, 92.9 NIN will be broadcasting live from the starting line for the kickoff before The Big Ride on Saturday. Don't forget, Hotter'N Hell Hundred has events all weekend long. I had in studio this week two guys that have been apart of the Hotter'N Hell Hundred for several decades now. Roby and Joe to discuss everything planned for this year.

Ride Day Schedule

Of course Saturday is the biggest day for the Hotter'N Hell Hundred so we talked about all the different rides that people can take part in. You do not have to do 100 miles, you could start this year with the 10K and work your way up to that 100 miles. Kids actually can get free registration with an adult for this year's 10K, read more about that here.

SAG Volunteers Needed

Another key aspect of what makes the Hotter'N Hell Hundred one of the premiere bicycle rides in the country is all the volunteers that make it a safe event. One of the volunteer organizations are the SAG wagons. Which stands for Support And Gear. The SAG wagons are the ones that go out and help folks that break down on the course. It could be a bicycle malfunction or a health issue. The SAG Wagon goes out in a truck and picks these people up along the course. I would say the biggest misconception about the Hotter'N Hell Hundred is that folks do not understand ALL of the events that take place that weekend. Yes, the 100 mile bike ride on the August 24th gets all the headlines. Roby and Joe also discussed the criterium events, off road events, the gravel grind, and a lot more. Should be another great Hotter'N Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls. We will be live from the starting line starting at 5AM thanks to Bicycle ER, then the official 100 mile ride kicks off a little after 7AM. I encourage everyone to come check it out if you have never been. Seeing thousands upon thousands of folks take over Scott Avenue is a sight to see every year.
