Over the past 65 years since a “weather balloon” touched down near Roswell, New Mexico, conspiracy theorists have given their take on what really happened. The sides are split on whether or not it was in fact a weather balloon as reported, or if it was a UFO that crashed, leaving behind alien cadavers. Now an ex-CIA agent is stepping forward and saying the “alien” events at Roswell are in fact what happened, that the weather balloon story is a cover-up.

Chase Brandon is a 35-year CIA veteran, and he’s now speaking publicly about his findings while at the Central Intelligence Agency. He states that he was in a vaulted area called the Historical Intelligence Collection when he came across what he considers evidence of an alien crash:

‘It was a vaulted area and not everybody could get in it,’ Brandon told The Huffington Post. ‘One day, I was looking around in there and reading some of the titles that were mostly hand-scribbled summations of what was in the boxes. And there was one box that really caught my eye. It had one word on it: Roswell. I took the box down, lifted the lid up, rummaged around inside it, put the box back on the shelf and said, ‘My god, it really happened!’

Brandon won’t say specifically what was inside, but it would appear the evidence was enough to convince him that the Roswell incident was no hoax.

Whether or not you choose to believe him is up to you, but I always question those who come forward in a public manner such as this. I did a quick search on Chase Brandon, and I didn’t find much, but it would seem he’s a shining star for the CIA. If in fact he’s all that he says he is, why would someone blurt out government secrets for the whole world to know? What will he come out with next, our top secret plans that are really none of our business?

Or…

Is it a carefully scripted announcement that the CIA has orchestrated? If that’s the case, why would they step forward now after 65 years?

What are your thoughts on the Roswell incident? Do you think it was something alien, or nothing interesting at all?
