When I was a kid, we had a Labrador retriever. Her name was Sandy, and I remember thinking that she was the most awesome dog ever. She was so good around me, even though I was running around the yard and practically jumping on her every chance I got. She was a very laid back dog. As I got older, my interest shifted to cats. I still love dogs, but my cat has my heart. I’m not sure if animals feel love for us the way we feel it for them, but I like to think that my cat loves me. Perhaps it’s just part of her plot to take over the world and appease me in the meantime, but either way, it’s nice to snuggle with her. Some pets don’t have someone to snuggle with and find themselves at a shelter. That’s where you can help.

The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for an energetic puppy that loves kids to at cat who’s just as laid back and quiet as you are, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.

May I present our pets of the week. If you’d like to see them in person or get more information on these pets or any other pets that the Humane Society has, check them out online here or call 940-855-4941. They’re located at 4360 Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.
