Four Oklahoma Teenagers Charged in Sexual Assault of Two Other Youths
Four Oklahoma teenagers from the Norman area are facing sexual assault charges.
18-year-old Tanner Shipman is the oldest of the four and has been charged as an adult. The other three suspects have been charged as juveniles and their identities have not been released.
KFOR News Channel 4 reports that all four are accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old and a 16-year-old on a Norman North school bus on January 9. Both victims were reportedly members of the same wrestling team as the alleged attackers.
Shipman is accused of luring the 12-year-old to the back of the bus and assaulting him. The 12-year-old was assaulted once again at the high school. Security cameras on board the bus captured the assaults as well as the accused bragging about it during and after the assaults. It’s not clear if the driver was aware of what was happening on the bus.
KOCO in Oklahoma City reports that all four have been released on $5,000 bail each, but not one of the suspects was ever in a jail cell. There next scheduled court date is April 14 in Garvin County.
