Guy Says He Was Doing 112 Miles-Per-Hour to Dry Off His Car
Oh I am sorry officer I didn't know I couldn't do that.
Chalk this up on the list of excuses that won't get you out of a speeding ticket. Especially when you're doing almost twice the speed limit. A few months back, in Black Diamond, Alberta, Canada, police pulled over a 67-year-old man who was doing 112 miles-per-hour on the highway.
The speed limit is 62. ( It's 100 kilometers-per-hour because of the Metric system) His excuse was, he'd just gotten a car wash and was doing 112 to try to dry his car off. The cops didn't buy that excuse, and yesterday in court, he was fined $800 and got his license suspended for 45 days.
